Beijing plant features new plant concept by Sidel

Sidel’s Beijing plant was designed to protect and draw strength from the surrounding natural environment.

Four imperatives figured prominently in the plant’s creation:

  • Protect the environment: limit the impact of our operations by controlling effects on water, air and the ground; limit our energy consumption; and promote the use of recycled materials.
  • Maximize protection from the environment: use natural resources to create the best work environment (protect against the weather by planting trees as living walls to insulate the facility from sun and cold wind; install efficient ventilation instead of air conditioning).
  • Draw renewable, natural energy from the environment: capitalize on natural the energy of our surroundings by using natural light, renewable energy, and solar energy to heat water; reuse water for secondary needs like restroom facilities and washing floors.
  • Nourish the environment: design intelligent spaces by creating diverse biospheres within facility green spaces and maintain them using rainwater; redesign work spaces to be more user- and environmentally friendly.

Today, we are working to expand this concept to all of our plants, to create a sustainable trend that, we hope, will inspire other manufacturers!
